Carrie Sheppard, LMHC

Carrie Sheppard holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in counseling from Boston University. A licensed mental health counselor, she has been working with individuals, children and families since 1985.

Carrie completed her post-graduate clinical fellowship at the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy, and is a state of Washington Child Mental Health Specialist and an RDI® Program Certified Consultant through Drs. Steven Gutstein and Rachelle Sheely’s Connections Center in Houston, Texas.

In addition to her background as a psychotherapist, Carrie has completed specialized training in the treatment of autistic children and is herself the parent of a child with an autism-spectrum disorder.

She has treated more than 400 individuals on the autism spectrum, from toddlers to senior citizens, as well as their family members. Having this view of the autism spectrum across the life-span, both personally and professionally, allows her to consider and respond to many of the questions and concerns that new families bring.
